About FACE
Anaemia is a relatively common disorder in older individuals – using WHO definitions, anaemia is found in around 10% of people over the age of 65. Many causes of anaemia are easy to treat, for example with transfusions, iron or vitamin supplements. Other causes may have a more complex aetiology, requiring attention from either a haematologist or another specialist physician. This website is designed to support primary care management of older patients with anaemia. It provides a tool to assist in the interpretation of blood panel results, and a Resource Centre with educational material focusing on anaemia in the elderly.
